Introducing Baby Lock’s newest “Sassy Girl” -- the Sashiko machine! This machine sews a perfect little “hand stitch” just like the stitch found on traditional Japanese sashiko stitched projects or your grandmother’s antique quilts. As you can see by the photos in the Sashiko Projects Category, this simple stitch can create stunning embellishments! Baby Lock: Sashiko

This tutorial illustrates the potential of using machine embroidery as a tool worthy of even a master couturier.
Cutting out dozens of identical pieces is done quickly and easily when layers of fabrics are stitched all at once in the hoop using the template designs. The flower petals are attached to the project fabric using the flower center designs. Reverse appliqué is used to accent the wing portions of the embroidered butterflies and dragonfly.
