Lectures

» All About Machine Embroidery Lecture and Trunk Show

What is undercover and why do I need it? (Does it come in control top?) And…what's this plastic thingy that came with my hoop? Why are my appliqué's wrinkled? What do you mean, reverse appliqué? (I don't even know how to do it forwards!) What's with all these puckers around my embroidery? You can build a quilt block in the hoop? What do you mean float my stabilizer? What is a topper and is ice cream involved?

Find out that there is no such thing as a stupid question. This lecture is perfect for machine embroidery wannabies, newbies and perfectionists. Be inspired by the creations that come out of Evy's studio and find out why and how she does what she does with machine embroidery.

After this lecture Evy will demonstrate one of her favorite techniques, "quilting in-the-hoop" and you will see some of Evy's favorite trunk show pieces for yourself!

» Sashiko & Embellisher Trunk Show & Lecture/Demo

Come see how much fun Evy has been having with two of Baby Lock's most creative machines - the Embellisher and the Sashiko! Watch her demonstrate her favorite techniques for Sashiko stitching and needle felting.

Learn how to use the Sashiko machine's sweetly simple stitch to make perfect pleats, couch creatively, apply "feather stitched" appliqués, and draw pictorial motifs, cross-stitch and more. You won't believe what that one sweetly simple stitch can do until you see it!

If you think that needle felting has to be all about wool, come let Evy prove that no naked sheep live in her studio! Watch her show you how to create beautiful fabric collages using fine silks and fancy fibers with the Embellisher. Of course, felting wool is fun too, and there is no need to be an artist to create beautiful felted wool creations. Evy will show you how to use your embroidery machine to jump-start the process.

After the presentation lecture you will have a chance to see Evy's original projects, up close and personal, made using both machines and watch her demonstrate some of her techniques on the Sashiko and Embellisher. Come be inspired and discover your own creative genius just waiting to be unleashed!

Trunk show
