If you have yet to take a Craftsy class, let me introduce you to this wonderful online classroom. Once you purchase a class, you own it for life. That means you can watch the class anytime, anywhere and as many times as you wish. You can pause, rewind and re-watch whenever you need to and even interact with the teacher in an online question and answer forum. Even better, all the designs and design templates are included with the class. Just get some fabric and stitch up some pretties with me!
Machine Embroidered Cutwork includes three really awesome projects! First of all, we will make a cute techie case. This gift-able case gives you lots of options for personalization: modify the size for a makeup bag or wallet, or box the corners and add a beaded strap for a pretty purse. Make a case for your phone, your e-reader, you ear buds or whatever you need a case for – tech stuff, tools or just for fun! I know you will find making these cases as addictive as I have; I can’t seem to stop making them!
Next we will make a stunning wrap. This is a “season of your choice” project as you get to choose the fabric. You might want to make a warm wool one, an elegant silk velvet one or a dainty linen one. Or all three! I’ll walk you through the process of creating a continuous embroidered border using intricate cutwork designs. You’ll learn how to use printed paper templates and easy alignment tricks to make a wrap sized just for you. While we stitch you will learn my own tips for fixing any “oops” along the way. When you are finished you will say “I can’t believe I made that!” Then you’ll want to make another one! As an added bonus, this class includes a lesson on how to create templates for any embroidery design. This is an invaluable tool for those of us who love machine embroidery.
Like many of you, I really admire old-fashioned hand work. One of the things I find so fascinating about my embroidery machine is that it can do in a fraction of the time what used to take me weeks and months to do by hand. For our final project in this class, you’ll discover how fast and fun it is to add machine embroidery lace detailing to a linen hand towel with a chic feather motif. This design would look great on other projects too, and I can’t wait to see what you do with it!
Come play with me! Join me today in Machine Embroidered Cutwork and learn stitching techniques that will help you create beautiful projects that show off your own unique style! I can’t wait to see you there!
