Are you happy? Genki Bear wants to know! This project demonstrates how to use Baby Lock's Sashiko machine to appliqué motifs and apply flip stitched cording while creating a beautiful Panda Bear quilted wall hanging. It also illustrates how to use your embroidery machine as a "die-cutting" tool, creating layers of identical shapes quickly and easily in the hoop. A CD included with the paper pattern contains the Japanese writing "How are you" embroidery design, bamboo leaf die-cut template designs and a PDF instruction file which covers Sashiko flip stitching, feather stitching appliqués and the quilt construction. The printed pattern includes a glossy printed photo of the finished quilt, a printed Panda Bear appliqué pattern, bamboo pole and leaf patterns (for those of you who do not yet have an embroidery machine) and a full size printed Panda design reference drawing.
Materials required are listed on the back of the pattern envelope. Machine formats included on the CD are: ART, HUS, JEF, PES and VIP. A 5x7 hoop is required. Our sample quilt is approximately 26" x 20". These dimensions are adjustable according to your own design layout.
Please note -- while this project as been designed to be used with Baby Lock's Sashiko machine, it is possible to create a similar quilt using this pattern with a regular sewing machine. The feather stitched appliqué portions would need to be substituted with a zigzag appliqué finish.
Continental USPS shipping is included in the price. An additional shipping charge will be added to international orders.
